More than 10,000 cyclists and spectators gathered at the East of England Arena and Events Centre for the Tour of Cambridgeshire (ToC) cycling festival, June 10-12, 2022, which featured closed road competitive cycling events, live entertainment and camping.
The event began with the single and group time trials on Saturday, and a more gentle 2.5km Family Ride around the site. The competition continued on Sunday with the 100-mile Gran Fondo, and three Sportives consisting of 100-mile, 75-mile and 50-mile routes.
Everyone stayed well hydrated in the fine weather, thanks to extra water being provided at the pit stops as the temperatures rose.
Nicole Hankins, event manager, East of England Arena, said, “Tour of Cambridgeshire has been a favourite at the venue for many years now. It not only brings people together with a great festival atmosphere, but it also raises considerable funds for charity and attracts thousands of new visitors to Peterborough every year.”
