The Boston & District Canine Society welcomed 6000 visitors, judges, and handlers to its annual show at the East of England Arena and Events Centre on January 6-8, 2022, heralding the venue’s first event of the year and the resumption of our COVID-19 procedures.
Pamela Newbould, our head of events reflected on the day saying, “It was a wonderful start to the year for the East of England Arena for another great show. I am proud of how the team worked with the organiser and together we were able to make a successful event that was enjoyed by attendees and their companions. We had excellent feedback on the venue’s clarity and dedication to the safety of all that attended”
Our team implemented the Department of Culture Media and Sports (DCMS) approved All Secure Standard procedures, introduced in 2020, to ensure the event complied with COVID-19 guidance and law. In addition to requiring masks to be worn, and proof of negative tests for admittance, we also took steps to increase airflow and ventilation throughout the Arena and the Atrium.
“COVID-19 safety is a priority at our venue,” said Nicole Hankins, event manager at the arena, “We take great pride that we were able to work with the organisers to create a successful event that was both enjoyable and in line COVID-19 guidance. Our thanks go out to everyone at the show for making the day such a resounding success and observing all the guidance in letter and spirit.”
Hankins concluded, “The Boston & District Canine Society has been a delight to have on-site and work with and helped start our year on a high note.”
