Cambridge Rock Festival is coming to the East of England Arena and Events Centre this summer, 16-19 June 2022, featuring a great mix of upcoming bands, experienced touring rock outfits, leading tribute acts and the occasional rock legend, all playing live on three covered stages. Camping is available on site, and fans can camp right next to their vehicle, with hookups for motorhomes and caravans also available.
The festival prides itself on being “run by rock fans, for rock fans” and is famous for its relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The Cambridge Rock Festival started life in 2004 as a family-run event at Huntingdon Racecourse, booking headliners Dr. Feelgood, The Stranglers and Wishbone Ash. The festival proved immensely popular from the outset and quickly gathered wider support and a team of volunteers to help run it.
18 years later, the Cambridge Rock Festival is still a family-run event but has grown in size and stature without losing the friendly vibe. This year’s lineup includes dozens of up and coming rock bands plus rock legends like Focus, The Tygers of Pan Tang and Atomic Rooster, along with championship tribute acts including The Pure Floyd Show, E.L.O Encounter, Let there B/DC, and Bootleg Bolan. From prog to folk to blues-rock, and all the way out to heavy rock, from the 60s to the 21st century, there’s rock music for everyone at the Cambridge Rock Festival, and fans can even enjoy acts from the comfort of tiered seating for a small charge.
Pamela Newbould, head of events, East of England Arena and Events Centre, said, “We’re very happy to have been chosen by Cambridge Rock Festival as the venue for this year’s event, and look forward to extending a warm welcome to the crew and all the rock fans in June.”
